"Sybil Hears from the Future"
30" W x 24" H in genuine antique barnwood frame-painted in oil on board-Price $750 (excluding tax and shipping)
The depicted Delphic sibyl (oracular priestess) resides on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I was fascinated by her apprehensive expression and thought about what she might know about the future that would frighten HER! A horrible scene? Something weird?-a tarantula? Something more threatening?-a wild animal? Or something as yet undiscovered or uninvented? My mind went to modern electronics-TV would certainly be disconcerting. Sibyl is a communicator-something in communication?-an iPhone? I thought that was a little too modern, so I settled on an original push-button GTE wall phone with an intact cord and red message light.
Sibyl is available at:

"I believe that an original painting is the direct expression of an artist’s ideas, thoughts, observations, and skills onto a painted surface. The sole conduit between the two is the artist’s hand, guided by experience. The viewer is free to imagine the artist’s point of view, or to interpret the work solely from within their own frame of reference. As the owner of an original piece of art, the viewer is free to assign to the painting a personal meaning and enjoy for many years the satisfaction that results."
